Events Organized by Centre for Development Technical & Coding Skills (CCSD)

IDEATHON 2K22

The first major offline event of Centre for Development Technical & Coding Skills (CCSD) , Ideathon 2K22, included students from various colleges came to VSE&T to present ideas to solve their chosen problem statement in the given themes. 4 judges were present from the industry and academia. The event was a major success for the society with great participation.

Workshop on Cyber Security Essentials:

This event saw Dr. Rhagvendra Pandey from CCNA (NIIT Foundation) speak on Cyber Security Essentials. This event was made in cooperation with CISCO. The event participants received e-certificates from CISCO and 6 months pro membership of LinkedIn.

This event saw Dr. Raghvendra Pandey from CCNA (NIIT Foundation) speak on Cyber Security Essentials. This event was made in cooperation with CISCO. The event participants received e-certificates from CISCO and 6 months pro membership of LinkedIn. More than 60 participants were there in this event.

IOSD (International Organization of Software Developers) Orientation

IOSD Developers held an orientation seminar on 10th May 2022, to introduce the students to their organization and encourage them to join IOSD. IOSD introduces student chapters in universities and conducts numerous events, it is extremely beneficial for the students. IOSD initially started with DTU and is now spreading its wings to other colleges as well. Societies usually tend to focus on one skill. IOSD, however, intends to provide an environment of holistic development to each one of its members. Being a coding society, they consider tech as their top priority and make sure that all their members get a taste of every technology they’re interested in. They help in conducting events that help in enhancing the coding skills of the students. All of their members have been involved in various tech and non tech projects through IOSD and consider IOSD as a stepping stone to their bright future. They are there to help, if you are eager to learn.

IDEATHON 2K22

The first offline technical event of VSE&T was Ideation 2K22, which was organized by C.O.D.E. in the Block C on 11th May 2022 under the guidance of Prof. Goldie Gabrani, the technical team head Prof. Deepali Virmani and the faculty coordinators Dr. Sonakshi Vij and Dr. Ashish Kumar. This was an inter-college event and we witnessed an overwhelming response from the other colleges which was brilliant. Presentations were taken in both online and offline mode. All the participants had gathered in the waiting room, and the event was started event with a short opening ceremony. The teams were given time slots of 10 mins and the presentations started in 2 panel rooms. 20 student coordinators were assigned specific duties. The student coordinators who had their duty for photography captured numerous moments gracefully along with geotagged pictures. A total of 30+ teams participated in the event. While the teams pitched their ideas all the teams and student coordinators were provided with refreshments. After the presentations lunch was held for the judges and internal committee members. Result compilation was done on the same day which was followed by a closing ceremony. The feedback of the teams was taken online via Google Forms. The winners were provided certificates in soft copy. Prof. Goldie Gabrani presented the mementos to all the judges.

Workshop on real time projects by Prof. Deepali Virmani

A workshop was taken up by Dr. Deepali Virmani on 24th June 2022 to motivate the students to take up projects that work on real life problems. The workshop was conducted in the computer centre and was attended by 60 students who are interested in developing hardware projects.

The International Symposium on the topic “Disruptive Technologies: Shaping Future Innovations” on 21st -22nd July 2022

The first day of the International Symposium started with a warm welcome from the VSE&T team. Thereafter, Samridhi Bisht (student coordinator) gave a welcome speech to our honorable guest speaker, Dr. Lalit Garg Professor, University of Malta, and Sunil Kumar Founder & CEO of IEEARC Technologies Pvt Ltd. Our guest speakers started the session by giving a short speech on the importance of AI and gave us some knowledge on the research they are currently working on including, ‘Healthcare Innovation through Extended Health Intelligence-Based Digital Twins’ and ‘Disruptive Technologies: Shaping Future Innovations in Healthcare’ respectively. Both speakers highlighted the need for upgrading the healthcare sector which will be possible if the youth start ascribing to an active role and act as nation builders. The second day of the International Symposium included Dr. Ihtiram Raza Khan, Professor Jamia Hamdard Delhi, and Dr. Prosun Bhattacharya, Professor KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden.

AICTE Conclave on Implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020: Facilitation Engineering Education in Indian Languages

This conclave was held on 15th of July 2022 at AICTE headquarters, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The theme of this conclave is based on the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP):Facilitating engineering education in Indian regional language. This conclave was divided into four sessions. Session 1 was an inaugural session and in that session, feedback from students pursuing engineering courses in Indian regional languages was heard and applauded. They told us how comforting it is for them to learn in their own regional language and how easier it gets for them to grasp all the information. In the following sessions, a panel sat down to discuss and share how beneficial it is for the mass audience who are not that familiar with the English language. The audience applauded AICTE for their powerful move of introducing regional languages to gain knowledge.

Tech Talk on “Education and Research in Emerging and Disruptive Technologies”

To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav), TIFAC has initiated a ‘Tech Talk’ series named TIFAC Tech Talk (T3). These Tech Talks are idea-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning and inspiration, aiming at disseminating knowledge on contemporary scientific topics, and are being delivered by eminent luminaries. The Tech Talk series, organized by TIFAC, TIFAC Tech Talk 9 was delivered on a CISCO Webex platform by Prof. V.Kamakoti, Director IIT Madras on 6th July 2022, Time 2:00 to 3:00 pm. The topic of the talk was " Education and Research in Emerging and Disruptive Technologies". Under the Centre for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, the event was shared with the students and the faculties of VSE&T.

A webinar on the topic "Advanced Control Development of Underwater Vehicles Placed on Machine Learning and Internet of Things"

A webinar on the topic "Advanced Control Development of Underwater Vehicles Placed on Machine Learning and Internet of Things'' was conducted by the Centre for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning under the aegis of VIPS-TC, VSE&T, New Delhi, India on 22nd June’2022. The speaker of the event was Dr. Tien Anh Tran. The guest speaker started the webinar by giving a short speech on the importance of Machine learning and the Internet of Things, and gave some knowledge on the research he is currently working on - "Advanced Control Development of Underwater Vehicles Placed on Machine Learning and Internet of Things'. An e-certificate was provided to all the registered participants who attended the webinar.

Webinar on “Ai4Industry: Decoded” on 30th May,2022.

The resource person for the webinar was Mr.Nikhil Goel. He started the session with asking students about what they know about AI. He broadened the knowledge with types of Artificial Intelligence and their applications. He explained the concept very well by taking examples and videos for better understanding. He shared his experience of using AI in Industry. He interacted well with students and the faculties and the discussion ended with the Q & A session.

Lecture for Knowledge Enhancement on Bloom’s Taxonomy

Dr. Deepali Virmani guided all the faculty members to prepare their course content according to NBA on 24th January,2022. Chairman Sir also addressed the faculties on the same day regarding the means to powerful presentation and content preparation in order to make learning an effective tool for students.

Webinar on “Science of Science: A data science approach to assess and quantify the research impact”

A webinar on data science approach to assess and quantify the research impact” on 22nd December 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4.00 PM on Zoom virtual platform. Dr. Kiran Sharma was the spokesperson for this webinar. She has completed her Postdoctoral Fellow from Northwestern University, USA, and her doctorate from Jawaharlal University.
Her research area is Analysis and to extract meaningful patterns from data to uncover rules and mechanisms governing their structure and dynamics. Her key interest areas are data science, computational social science, econophysics, science of science, and bibliometrics. She has won the Young Investigator Training Award, Materials, Italy (2016). An e- certificate was provided to all the registered participants who attended the webinar.

Lecture for Enhancement of Teaching through Innovation in Teaching Pedagogies

Prof(Dr.) Goldie Gabrani guided all the faculty members on how to carry out innovations in teaching by following certain teaching pedagogies on 18th November,2021. Every faculty member discussed the teaching pedagogies with the Director and it was followed by the suggestions by the Director on how to bring innovations in teaching.
